The guy is from a good family, but he is like a vagabond, he is not really attached to things. He studies at this good university where he meets his future girlfriend, she's very cute, tall, brown hair and she's a nice person: imagine Emily Blunt in the Devil Wears Prada.
He seduces her, they fall in love, Great Story. The guy graduates, the girl still has couple more years to go, she's studies psychiatry.
Then he meets the dad, in the parents' mansion, over dinner. the dad is very rich, very conservative and not welcoming. The dad is concerned that the guy might be interested in the girl for his money. The meeting goes ok.
Then suddenly the guy loses contact with his gilfriend for several days, no phone, no emails, he is very worried, he can't sleep, he see's himself going to the dad's house looking for her. he is guessing she's busing, something is preventing her to contact him and there is something going on.
Finally they meet, it's the night, she's seating at a window table in a dinner, he is just arriving, they're kissing through the window, then he goes in, seat in front of her, the emotion is strong: he can hardly talk. A plate of food is on the table. she's explaining that she spent these last days with this other guy from school, who needed help, and who also loves her and she wants to help him. The boyfriend gets up, he is very hurt, he's explaining her that the new guy is interested because he needs her and it's not something comparable to what they have together. It seems the girl can't decide which guy to pick and the boyfriend leaves the diner.
We're projected sometime in the future, in a mad house, we see a lot of patients doing weird things in the yard in front of the bulding, then we see the girl coming out of the building and down the stairs. she's dressed in white and 2 old Drs walk next to her. They are welcoming her to their hospital and showing her the different patients, they are very proud to have her, she's going to a be a great Dr. Then we see a patient, he is back to the 'dream camera', but we understand he is one of the two guys who loved her. We don't know which guy she picked, and so we don't know if it is the first boyfriend who got interned into the hospital, knowing she will work here, or the second one. Finally the 3 Doctors reach him, we do not see his face but he says "I just need a little more time to graduate, then everything is going to be alright".
